Role Description

Cranfield is a world-renowned, exclusively postgraduate University specialising in creating leaders in Technology and Management.

Facilities are a key Professional Service Unit (PSU) working within the University to ensure the effective management, development and maintenance of the University’s buildings, infrastructure and land and in doing so provide a safe, efficient and cost-effective environment that enables the University to fulfil its strategic objectives.

Working as part of the Engineering team this individual will provide technical support to the University’s Mechanical Engineer\ Mechanical Engineering Manager. Responsible for overseeing the delivery of relevant projects, reviewing risk assessments and method statements and appointing and supervising approved contractors this individual will ensure work is of the required specification and is completed in accordance with the relevant compliance measures. In addition they will provide guidance and support to colleagues on all mechanical services and installations as required.

To be successful in this post you must have a HNC/D or NVQ (level 4) in a relevant subject area and/or suitable trade based qualifications with extensive proven experience in a similar role ideally from a complex organisation. Able to demonstrate a high level of knowledge, the required understanding of best practice and the relevant Health and Safety Legislation you will be competent in the use of Microsoft Office and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously to ensure deadlines are met.
