Founded over a hundred years ago, the University of Bristol has revolutionised society with its cutting-edge research and education. An international powerhouse of learning, discovery and enterprise, the University’s excellence is acknowledged locally, nationally and globally. As a Russell Group university ranked in the top 50 universities in the world (QS 2018), Bristol’s future will be as remarkable as its past.

We are recruiting for a Gift Administration Assistant to join our dynamic, highly respected and fast-growing Development and Alumni Relations (DARO) team on a 6-month fixed term basis. The post would suit someone with excellent attention to detail, great interpersonal skills and good Excel knowledge. You will assist in DARO’s Gift Administration function, primarily being responsible for carrying out monthly disbursements, responding to queries from both DARO colleagues and wider University staff/departments, processing donations in an accurate and timely manner as well as providing support to the Gift Allocations Officer where required. You will also need to be able to prioritise your own workload and ensure that our strict turnaround times are maintained.

In collaboration with colleagues across DARO, you will help identify and act on opportunities to streamline and improve the efficiency and reliability of our gift administration processes where appropriate and ensure that they always adhere to legislative and best practice guidelines.

With a customer focussed outlook, you will have experience of working in a financial or administrative capacity in a large, complex organisation. Previous experience in a fundraising environment is desirable but not essential. You will have a logical approach, with excellent organisation, communication and prioritisation skills and the proven ability to work to multiple deadlines. You will have a strong belief in the importance of universities to society, and a good working knowledge of fundraising and financial regulation, policies and guidelines.

It is anticipated that interviews will take place in the week commencing 11 November 2019.

For more information please contact Sophie Batty, Gift Allocations Officer on +44(0)117 428 4502 or by emailing Sophie.batty@bristol.ac.uk

We welcome applications from all members of our community and are particularly encouraging those from diverse groups, such as members of the LGBT+ and BAME communities, to join us.
