The University is seeking to appoint to the position of Keeper: Theatre Archives (one half of a job share). The Theatre Collection (an accredited museum and accredited archive service) is one of the world's largest archives relating to the history of British theatre and live art. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a busy, challenging environment with a wide range of users. This post’s working hours are flexible, with exact working hours to be decided in conjunction with the successful candidate.
This is an exciting time to join the Theatre Collection (TC) team as we develop plans for our move to the Centre for Cultural Collections in the planned New University Library.
The post holder will be responsible for the curation and development of the theatre archives. Core activities include acquisitions, collections care, development and maintenance of the TC’s collections management systems (Axiell Calm and Preservica) and ontributing to the strategic development of the TC through grant applications, projects and exhibitions.
The post holder will help raise the profile of the TC and its collections within and beyond the university through advocacy, events and other onsite and online services so that the TC can contribute to the University’s Vision and Strategy. They will work closely with TC staff team and play a key role to support the TC’s strategic development and the creation of the Centre for Cultural Collections.
The role will close at midnight on Sunday 3rd November and interviews will be held on Monday 18th November.
