St Mary’s University are seeking to appoint to a combined role within the Grounds Team undertaking both Waste and Recycling, and Grounds and Gardening duties.
If you have gained some experience in the grounds maintenance sector and previously undertaken waste disposal duties this could be the role you are looking for. This role includes a varied mix of tasks from helping out with sports pitch preparation through to routine mowing of grass and pruning of plants. If you are also willing to participate in waste and recycling duties keeping the University campus clean and tidy this could be the opportunity for you to broaden your experience. We have a vacancy for an individual who has some of the previous experience required to undertake these tasks and join a small and productive team with a broad mix of responsibilities. Perhaps you have worked as a street scene operative or been responsible for mowing verges, clearing litter, emptying bins and have helped with the clearance of leaf or snow and would like the opportunity to do other things too. The right applicant will be able to undertake the daily duties described in the job description and demonstrate an aptitude for work of this nature that lends itself to development within the role, a significant portion of which will include driving within the site and the immediate proximity.
The successful post holder will be required to work flexibly and fulfill a shift pattern that sees them working part days on some weekends, however there are also weekday rest days, consolidated working weeks, and a shift allowance to reflect the unusual working pattern. Please refer to the sample shift pattern in the Job Description for additional information.
Please also see our Job Description for more details of the role and its duties.
You can apply for this role by submitting your application online through the recruitment web pages or by sending your CV with a covering letter indicating the title of the role you have applied for, expressing why you are interested in the role and what you bring to the role. Please send CV and covering letter applications by email or post to email@example.com or to the University postal address;
