The role

Each Application Services team is accountable for managing and coordinating defect resolution, enhancements and significant changes for their designated suite of business services and applications. They will collaborate with key stakeholder groups, and delivery partners, to implement system fixes or enhancements that fully address client needs, continually improving and enhancing the capabilities and effectiveness of La Trobe's systems and processes.

These roles are for the corporate application suite supporting HR, Finance, Legal, other corporate functions and service management (with key systems currently being SAP and ServiceNow) and the Student application suite (current examples include student management systems, student-facing customer service management, and timetabling systems).

What you will be doing

  • Manage the design, development, support and enhancement services relating to the designated application suite, including managing a product/feature backlog.
  • Establish strong working relationships with stakeholders to agree and commit on application solution scope and delivery approach.
  • Work within project/program construct to establish approach, estimates and deliver to the agreed outcomes as set out in approved plans, collaborating with the projects to understand business drivers, requirements and benefits. 
  • Deliver application changes to the production operations and support teams as per committed time and acceptance criteria.
  • Establish and maintain application configuration and development services standards and processes across multiple applications, including revisions to implement continuous improvement/s.
  • Ensure application services practices and process are aligned with the IS standards, practices, processes and governance.
  • Management of the team, resource and service tracking, managing risks & issues, reporting to management on team performance.

About you

A proactive individual to join our dynamic team with experience engaging stakeholders and managing teams in application support and delivery management while utilising monitoring and reporting tools.

You have:

  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership role, managing teams in delivering and supporting ERP application solutions to business priorities, including prioritising and delivering plans of work in collaboration with business, technology and external delivery partners, designed to meet strategic goals.
  • Demonstrated capability to identify and engage effectively with the projects and establish collaborative trusted working relationships required to deliver technology solutions designed to enhance business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience engaging and managing external vendors to service delivery outcomes, including management to financial and service Key Performance Indicators.   
  • Demonstrated experience of project delivery methodologies, such as SDLC and Agile.
  • Demonstrated experience of ITIL processes.
