Overview:

Picture a job that blends public service with a commercial mindset, where you work with the brightest minds to create a future we can all be proud of.

Queen Mary University of London is a leading global university with a difference. We are one of the UK’s top research universities, committed to improving social justice and achieving the previously unthinkable. The Marketing and Communications Directorate is responsible for raising the awareness and reputation of Queen Mary among its target audiences, and for increasing the quality and quantity of Queen Mary applicants.

We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated International Higher Education professional to join our Global Engagement team as Deputy Head of International and EU Student Recruitment.

The post holder, who must have significant experience of International Higher Education, primarily within a student recruitment context, will play a lead role in delivering Queen Mary’s overseas student recruitment targets across our suite of programmes, and all study levels.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, confident individual who is able to play a leadership role in a team operating globally and from multiple locations.  Skills in relationship management are vital given the role requires building effective relationships with external stakeholders across all levels of seniority, both in the public and private sector.  The post holder will need to work across the university with both academic and professional services staff, to ensure we are well positioned to maximise our recruitment potential.

Working with colleagues across the Global Engagement Office and wider Marketing and Communications Directorate, the post holder will be expected to play a significant role in delivering the objectives around student recruitment in our 2030 Strategy.

The post is a permanent full time appointment based at our Mile End campus in East London.  The role will include overseas travel of no more than 12 weeks travel per year.  Starting salary will be in the range of £47,325 - £49,997 per annum inclusive of London Allowance.  Benefits include 30 days annual leave, pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.

Informal enquiries should be addressed to Lee Wildman, Director of Global Engagement, at l.wildman@qmul.ac.uk.
