Overview:

The Careers and Enterprise team develops the employability of Queen Mary University of London students and graduates through a portfolio of services.

Our Operations and Content Manager is pivotal to the team. This postholder leads on the key operational activity which underpins a modern, efficient university careers service. The five key areas of operational responsibility are:

  1. Student-friendly curation and dissemination of labour market information;
  2. Generation of campaigns to communicate key careers messages across campus;
  3. Management and optimization of careers technology (such as the careers service management system);
  4. Generation of engagement and impact data;
  5. Front-of-house delivery – ensuring a high level of service to students at initial point of contact (and including appointments management).

The postholder line manages the Operations and Content Team (2-3 staff), and, as a member of the Careers and Enterprise Management Team, influences the strategic direction of the Service, particularly where this relates to the above five areas of operational activity.

The successful candidate will have experience managing careers information, delivering user-friendly client services and managing staff. S/he will be confident analyzing and interpreting data and using visualisation software (such as PowerBI) to present findings. We are also seeking a candidate comfortable with project managing the customisation of a careers service management system.

The role is full-time and is fixed term for up to one year and is available as a result of maternity cover. While it is expected that you will hold the role for the full period, should the post-holder on maternity leave exercise her right to return to work earlier, then this appointment will be terminated, subject to a notice period of one month.
