Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Clinical Associate Professor/Clinical Assistant Professor in the School of Public Health (2 posts) (Ref.: 498865), to commence as soon as possible, on a four-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second four-year fixed-term contract.

Applicants should possess a primary medical qualification registrable in Hong Kong and a specialist qualification in Public Health Medicine (F.H.K.A.M. (Community Medicine)) or equivalent (e.g. F.F.P.H., F.A.F.P.H., F.R.C.P.(C) in Community Health, American Board certification in Preventive Medicine, etc.). Those with less experience may be considered for appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor.

The appointees are expected to strengthen the School’s research and knowledge exchange (KE) programmes in public health medicine, and develop and promote innovative, collaborative and effective ways to integrate clinical medicine and public health practice into population health research. They will play a key role in leading the development of academic scholarship and teaching programmes of the School in a collaborative and inclusive work environment, and contributing to the enhancement and development of medical and health science courses in the Faculty.  Depending on their qualifications and leadership experience, the appointees may also be considered for appointment as Programme Director of postgraduate/undergraduate programmes in the School.  Information about the School can be found at http://sph.hku.hk.  Those who have responded to the previous advertisement (Ref.: 495553) need not re-apply.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.  A monthly cash allowance will be offered to the successful candidate.   Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.
