The Department wishes to appoint a fixed term Lecturer in Medieval Literature. Applicants should hold a PhD in Medieval Literature (or equivalent qualification/experience) and already have relevant teaching experience in the field. We are looking for a Medieval Literature specialist who can teach specialist Medieval modules. Modules to be taught may include: Literatures in Time, Heroes and Outlaws in History and Fiction: 1100-1600 and Arthurian Literature from Geoffrey of Monmouth to Game of Thrones

The post is full time for a period of 12 months, starting from 1 January 2020. Starting salary will be on the Academic and Education Grade 5 scale at £42,433 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. This post is available as a result of maternity leave, and it is expected that the role will run for a period of 12 months. However, should the substantive post-holder exercise their right to return to work earlier, then this appointment may be ended early, subject to a notice period of one month.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
