Detailed Description

The Assistant Manager - Finance and Administration is responsible for the day to day of the Finance and Administration operations.

He/she is responsible to ensure that the reports are prepared accurately, reported in a timely manner and in compliance with the Company's policies, statutory requirements, approved accounting standards.

Key duties and responsibilities

Management

  1. Responsible for the day-to-day operation of Finance and Administration activities.
  2. Responsible for the full spectrum of financial activities.
  3. Responsible for accurate and timely completion of financial reconciliations; management and statutory accounts, in accordance with statutory regulatory requirements and applicable Accounting Standards.
  4. Responsible for Withholding Tax and corporate tax fillings.
  5. Responsible for Accounts payable, ensuring payments are made on timely manner.
  6. Responsible for fixed assets management.
  7. Responsible for Inter-Copany transactions.
  8. Responsible for general ledger management.
  9. Develop, implement, maintain and review accounting procedures, policies, internal controls, corporate governance and ensure compliance to local statutory requirements at all times.
  10. Liaise with internal and external auditors, tax agent, bankers, solicitors, insurance brokers, company secretary and other professional and regulatory bodies.

Budgeting and Reporting

  1. Preparation of monthly departmental reports, research project reports with relevant analysis and reasons on the variances between actual, forecast and budget.
  2. Review of balance sheet reconciliation report, Capex and Opex spending reports.
  3. Ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirements.
  4. Assist the Finance Manager in the preparation of the University's budget and long term business plan.

Funds Management

  1. Arranging fixed deposit and Repo placements with the bank.
  2. Ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirements.
  3. Review of bank reconciliations and timely clearance of the unreconciled item.

Essential

  • Degree in Accounting or CPA/ACCA qualification or equivalent.
  • Minimum three (3) years of working experience as Senior Executive or similar capacity.
  • Knowledge in Oracle R12 would be advantage
  • Well versed with Microsoft Office applications especially proficient in MS Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Meticulous, attending to details and good team player

Desirable

  • Accounting/CPA/ACCA qualification
  • Experience working in the education industry.
  • Familiar with Account Payable functions
  • Able to communicate with all levels
