Position Focus:

The IAM (Identity and Access Management) Operations Lead is the lead for the operations team supporting all Identity and Access Management services. In this role, the incumbent will lead a team of dev/ops-capable professionals responsible for incident handling and management of changes to and maintenance of our IAM systems and infrastructure. The incumbent also serves as the project manager for the implementation of upgrades and small enhancements to our IAM systems and functions. As part of overseeing the team, this role will lead and guide the team to: monitor, configure and debug various IAM technical platforms; use scripting to automate routine monitoring, configuration and incident recovery tasks for the IAM domain; coordinate the dispatch and handling of IAM incidents and requests for service. The IAM operations lead will also participate in problem management, process documentation and other hands-on aspects of IAM technical service management as well as participating in On-Call Support rotation for IAM Services.

Essential Duties:

  1. Develops functional and/or service goals that ensure conformity and uniformity with University policies within their assigned area of responsibility. 
  2. Oversees new and existing systems and services development to include modification of existing systems.
  3. Evaluates user needs and implement systems and solutions to best service the community.
  4. Consults with users and IT functions to diagnose and resolve complex problems.
  5. Serves as a liaison between area of responsibility and other areas to ensure conformity with department and University goals.
  6. Develops troubleshooting and problem resolution programs to ensure a high level of service and efficiency.
  7. Influences and collaborates with clients and ITS functions to maximize the delivery of services and solutions.
  8. May perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field and a minimum of four years of related technical experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skill/Ability 1:

Proven programming experience with scripting such as Powershell, JavaScript or similar scripting language.

Required Skill/Ability 2:

Proven experience with SQL queries.

Required Skill/Ability 3:

Demonstrated ability providing level 2 support for automated processes and applications.

Required Skill/Ability 4:

Well developed oral & written communication skills. Strong personal time management skills and ability to meet individual and team deadlines.

Required Skill/Ability 5:

Proven experience leading and mentoring an operations team.

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:

BA degree with 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education & experience. Direct IAM experience is ideal - (requirements, features, tools, policies, standards, practices). Strong MS Office skills including Visio. Exp in SQL queries, data analysis. Exp working with data warehouses or databases. Demonstrated ability with ITIL Incident and Problem management.
