An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Researcher to work on a Realist Synthesis as part of the exciting and prestigious two-year RECO study (Realist Evaluation of service models and systems for CO-existing serious mental health and alcohol/drug conditions) funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Health Technology Assessment programme. Led by the University of Leeds, the RECO study includes collaborators at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU), Northumbria University, Kings College London, University of Bath, and the University of Birmingham. The aim of the research is to find out what is most helpful about the current services aimed at people with severe mental health difficulties and alcohol or drug problems. The study will make recommendations about what works for whom, how and in what contexts, and for future commissioned research.

The study comprises interrelated work packages, including Realist Synthesis. The role is suited to a highly motivated individual, who is keen to gain experience in undertaking a Realist Synthesis or to further develop their expertise in this area. To apply for this role, you should be able to demonstrate knowledge of evidence synthesis methods in your research, and show a commitment to developing your understanding of the methods of Realist Synthesis and Evaluation.

The post will be based in Liverpool, but will involve some travel across the study sites (including Leeds and other locations in England) so an ability and willingness to travel is desirable. The post will commence in January 2020.

LJMU values diversity and provides a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone can fulfil their potential.

Please note all of our vacancies will be closed to applications at midnight on the advertised closing date, unless otherwise stated.
