Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within School of Sport and Health Sciences for a full time Lecturer in Sports Therapy. Applicants must be enthusiastic and visionary with experience of teaching/lecturing in a higher education environment within the Sports Therapy field.

The appointee will facilitate the teaching, learning and assessment of several modules within the discipline area of Sport Therapy. This will also be aligned to continuing professional development via engagement with their own research, and allied knowledge transfer/income generation.

Applicants must be registered as a Member of the Society of Sports Therapists, be educated to graduate level with a good honours degree (or equivalent) in Sports Therapy or similar and have experience of contemporary Sports Therapy practice. The successful candidate will be committed to the success of students and be able to show that they can effectively support learning and teaching in the classroom and in practice areas, with a flexible and innovative approach. The successful applicant will have or be working towards a higher degree or evidence of having completed a significant proportion of such a degree programme in a relevant subject. Fellowship of HEA/PGCert in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education or equivalent is also required. With a proven ability to work successfully as part of a team and independently, the successful applicant will have excellent presentation and communications skills.
