RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATEMIT Libraries, to provide administrative support for the director of development and the Libraries’ development and fund-raising activities. Responsibilities include managing donor lists and the solicitation and acknowledgement letters process; assisting with building prospect lists and donor/prospect research; using Advance database for maintaining information and tracking prospects, data analysis, and reporting; participating in ongoing cultivation/stewardship of donors and relationship management; engaging with lower-end annual fund donors ($100-$999); supporting the grant proposal submission process; managing the director’s calendar; arranging travel and processing expense reports; maintaining supplies, equipment, and space; drafting, editing, and proofreading correspondence/documents; paying vendors and keeping budget and purchasing records; managing event logistics, e.g., invitations, registration, scheduling venues and participants, catering, managing vendors, etc.; maintaining mailing lists and websites; and other duties as needed. 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED three years direct/related experience; proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, web browsers, and calendar software and ability to learn additional programs/systems; comfort working in a Mac environment; experience with databases; excellent administrative, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills; diplomacy; good judgment and discretion with confidential information; keen attention to details; editing and proofreading skills; initiative; and a record of punctual attendance.  Must be able to multitask and manage competing priorities; analyze and solve problems while completing tasks under tight deadlines; work effectively with a diverse group of people and across organizational boundaries; work independently with minimal supervision; and lift and carry up to 30lbs and move supplies campus-wide, including up and down stairs. PREFERRED:  associate’s/bachelor’s degree, resource development experience, experience at MIT or experience in a university setting, basic web maintenance skills, and knowledge of MIT fund-raising environment.  Job #18091-5
