Position Summary: As the People Analytics Analyst, you will partner with the TMWS and HR Solutions teams to design, develop and maintain HR’s workforce analytics efforts and people dashboards. If you are someone who is passionate about HR analytics and can approach complex problems in an organized and insightful way, this position will both excite and challenge you. You will be a direct member of our TMWS team reporting to the Associate Vice President and responsible for providing consultation and collaboration to cross-functional teams both inside and outside of HR. As the subject matter expert, you will provide insights needed to inform decisions and the direction of many university-wide talent management initiatives.

As a thought leader in analytics and people/organization insights, your responsibilities include:

  • Use consulting skills and deep inquiry to determine and articulate the data needs and important research questions, develop the best approach for data analysis, and turn data into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Merge and analyze quantitative and qualitative (and structured and unstructured) data from various sources, such as employee survey data, exit interview data, applicant tracking data, etc., and identify patterns and trends.
  • Perform complex data analysis and generate insights to support the HR workforce analytics needs of the business, and to drive more informed business decisions.
  • Relies on HR experience and insights related to the employee life-cycle to deliver high quality analysis, reports, and presentations using simple and effective visualizations that can be scaled for consumption by a larger audience.  Tell the “talent story” with high impact visuals.
  • Support TMWS (and HR Solutions) through the development and implementation of self-service dashboards and self-service/scheduled reports. This also includes coordinating with stakeholders to modify existing dashboards/reports to account for changes in security, updated business needs, etc.
  • Through data, may predict what actions will be taken in a designated timeframe for a prescribed issue/challenge.
  • May need to collaborate with other organizations to gather data. Proactively seek and locate data, including outside benchmarks or comparative data, to support or refute proposed decisions.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • 3+ years of experience working with Advanced MS Excel required, Qualtrics, data visualization software (Tableau preferred), and some understanding of HRIS systems such as PeopleSoft, Oracle
  • Experience and working knowledge of HR practices, processes, metrics and systems (e.g., Taleo)
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, or related major or a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a strong orientation to data analytics
  • Strong consultative, presentation and written communication skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to accuracy
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Ability to constantly perform desk-based computer tasks. Frequently sit, sort, file paperwork or parts, grasp lightly, and use fine manipulation, lift, carry, push and pull objects that weigh 10 pounds or less. Occasionally write by hand, twist, bend, stoop and squat. Rarely stand, walk, reach or work above shoulders and use a telephone.
