The Role and Your Responsibilities

The School of Health and Biomedical Sciences aims to provide globally recognised practical, relevant, and innovative programs, research and industry training. The discipline of Osteopathy facilitates an undergraduate program that is structured to integrate foundation sciences, clinical sciences, and clinical skills to produce capable graduates that can practice as healthcare professionals with strong Osteopathic skills.

To help to support this aim we require passionate and clinically-experienced staff that will facilitate, support and assess clinical practice students to achieve and maintain competency. We welcome expressions of interest from suitably qualified, registered and experienced candidates to register their interest to teach and/or mark assessments and provide clinical supervision on a casual basis within the School.

Lectures, tutorials and practical classes are delivered at our Bundoora campus Monday to Friday, and our clinical supervision at the RMIT Health Sciences Clinic runs Monday to Saturday.

The volume, nature and availability of sessional teaching and clinical supervision will vary based on the needs of the School including course offerings, timetabling and student demand. There is an expectation that clinicians fulfil both rostered shifts as well as short-notice requirements.

Essential criteria:

  • Current AHPRA Registration as an Osteopath.
  • At least 3 years of clinical practice.
  • Evidence of teaching ability and the capacity to engage students positively and constructively in learning;
  • Demonstrable ability to work effectively as part of a team.
