(Based in Tauranga)
We are offering an opportunity to join the team of highly professional, dedicated science staff working at the University of Waikato. Based in Tauranga, you will join an institution leading the way in the Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions with world class research.
This role will deliver innovative research supporting an ongoing research programme focusing on the cultivation of macroalgae (fresh water and marine) for bioremediation and development of aquaculture products. Specifically, this role will focus on the reproduction, settlement, and early development of macroalgae primarily for aquaculture purposes.
The successful applicant must be able to provide high quality research in the field. Broad and in-depth knowledge of macroalgal biology, reproduction, and settlement and early development is critical, as is the ability to publish in high quality scientific journals and attract external research funding.

Salary will be in the range NZ$93,544 to NZ$109,135 per year, depending on qualifications, skills and experience.
This position is fixed term for 18 months.
