HUMAN RESOURCES (HR) ADMINISTRATOR, Aeronautics and Astronautics, to provide a wide range of human resources (HR) services. Will be primarily responsible for the accurate and timely administration of all HR activities. Responsibilities will include interpreting and advising faculty and staff on complex HR issues, including policies and procedures; managing payroll; reviewing/processing various HR transactions/activities, e.g., turnover, grievances, vacation, open positions, and performance reviews; managing on- and off-boarding; managing searches for open positions, advising on advertising, posting, interviewing, and reference checking; handling promotion cases; advising on staff leaves; leading annual salary review processes for SRS, support, and academic staff; working with Administrative Officer on staff development plans and performance evaluations; serving as rewards and recognition key contact and administering spot and infinite mile programs; liaising on visa-related issues; coaching and providing guidance on employee relations issues, questions, complaints, and suggestions; identifying the need for and proposing, coordinating, and delivering relevant staff trainings and workshops; managing and overseeing vacation recording and reporting; maintaining personnel data; ensuring HR activities, records, and forms are in compliance with applicable laws and guidelines; overseeing visiting students; and other duties as requested.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; at least four years’ HR experience; working familiarity with federal and state employment laws and HR principles; solid knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SAP, and PeopleFluent or similar systems and reporting software tools; excellent organizational, client service, problem-solving, client service, active listening, and oral and written communication; attention to detail; ability to thrive in a fast-paced, teamwork-oriented environment; sound independent judgment; and the ability to work proactively, independently, and cross-functionally. MIT experience preferred, as is SPHR or PHR certification.
