Job Description

The Nutrition and Health Department at the College of Food and Agriculture, United Arab Emirates University invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Clinical Nutrition at the rank of Assistant Professor. This is a teaching emphasis position with expectations to participate in collaborative research together with other faculty members. Opportunities to initiate/lead research available.

Responsibilities

The candidate will coordinate, develop and intensively teach in-person or online undergraduate and graduate courses in clinical human nutrition, medical nutritional therapy, foods and nutrition in health promotion and disease prevention, and other related areas. Successful candidates will have a strong commitment to teaching excellence, student academic advising, and student learning outcomes assessment methods both at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates with experience in internship and internship program coordination are preferred. Initiating and maintaining an individual research program in clinical nutrition is encouraged. Strong collaboration within and outside the department is expected. The individual will mentor undergraduate research, support graduate research and engage in discussions with other research trainees like RAs and postdocs. Minimum Qualification

Ph.D. in Nutritional Science, Dietetics, or a related field is required. Evidence of experience in teaching clinical nutrition and food services management courses at undergraduate and graduate levels is essential. Understanding of SMART learning approaches, learning outcomes assessment and evidence of ability to manage teaching through diverse digital/online platform is expected. Professional experience in clinical setting or registered dietitian status is preferred. Successful candidates will also have a sound research background as evident through publications and extramural competitive research grants. Active membership and participation in national/international nutrition and dietetics professional associations are desirable.
