Asia-Pacific Institute of Ageing Studies

Asia-Pacific Institute of Ageing Studies (APIAS) is looking for an experienced researcher to implement a project on ageing in place and also deliver teaching courses to bachelor and master students on health and social services management. The appointee will be responsible for (a) planning and implementing the ageing in place research project; (b) launching community services for older people; (c) analysing data and writing research reports and journal articles; (d) preparing research and project proposals; (e) liaising with non-governmental organisations and private healthcare providers; and (f) completing other tasks assigned by the Director of APIAS.

General Requirements

Applicants should have (i) a PhD degree in Social Work, Social Policy, Sociology, Psychology, Public Administration or related fields; (ii) experiences in analysing quantitative and qualitative data and writing research reports and grant applications; (iii) good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; (iv) proficiency in computer software (e.g. MS Office, SPSS); and (v) good organisational and interpersonal skills.

Appointment

The conditions of appointment will be competitive. Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund, and gratuity for the eligible appointee. Appointment will normally be made on a fixed-term contract of up to 18 months. Experienced Postdoctoral Fellow may carry a functional title of Research Assistant Professor.
