The International Baccalaureate® (IB) is currently seeking to make the appointment of:

Principal Examiner for MYP Visual Arts

In MYP arts, students function as artists as well as learners of the arts. Artists have to be curious. By developing curiosity about themselves, others and the world, students become effective learners, inquirers and creative problem-solvers. Students create, perform and present arts in ways that engage and convey feelings, experiences and ideas. Through 
this practice, students acquire new skills and master those developed in prior learning. 

The Principal examiner is responsible for the development and delivery of assessments within their discipline, under the guidance of the Chief examiner.  They are closely involved in developing partially completed unit plans, examiner training, marking/moderating candidates’ work, agreeing and setting standards, and determining the final grades of candidates in both the May and November sessions.  They will also work closely with the Chief examiner for the subject group ensuring parity across disciplines.   

Attendance at meetings, held either face to face or virtually, is a requirement of this position as is the ability to be involved in the authoring process if required.

The position is normally held for a period of five years, with an annual review.
