Leeds Loves Ambassador
Please note that this role is only open to current University of Leeds undergraduate students.
Are you reliable, confident and passionate about your programme of study? Would you like to share your subject knowledge and enthusiasm for higher education with young learners?
The Educational Engagement team works with students aged 11-19 on inspirational, fun and interactive activities to raise awareness of, and aspirations towards, higher education. Our Leeds Loves project, now in its sixth year, is designed to make university-level study accessible and desirable to school and college pupils.
As a Leeds Loves STEM Ambassador, you will work as part of a highly motivated, professional team visiting schools and colleges to deliver presentations and answer questions about your degree specialism and your experience of studying at university. You may also support the delivery of subject-specific on-campus events for school pupils and their teachers.
We are recruiting STEM students from the following academic areas:
- Computer Science
- Environmental & Earth Sciences
- Food Science & Nutrition
- Natural Sciences
- Physics & Astronomy
So if you love your course and life at university, why not tell future students about it!
You will be required to act as a positive ambassador for the University and higher education. You will work with young people from a range or backgrounds in varying audience sizes so you should possess strong communication and presentation skills.
Work in this post is available throughout the academic year. Hours are designed to be flexible around your studies. The number of hours you work is dependent on your existing academic commitments and the activity requests we receive from schools/colleges.
