Applications are invited for appointment as Research Officer / Assistant Research Officer in the Centre for Advancement of Chinese Language Education and Research (CACLER) within the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 498703), to commence as soon as possible until July 31, 2021, with the possibility of renewal.

Applicants should possess: (i) a Master’s degree in Psychology, Education or a related field; (ii) over 5 years of research experience in conducting qualitative and quantitative research projects; (iii) solid statistical (e.g. SPSS) and analyzing skills; (iv) a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; (v) highly developed leadership, organizational and administrative skills; and (vi) the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team to conduct educational research. Those with less research experience may be considered for appointment as Assistant Research Officer.

The appointee will assist the Project Director to conduct a joint-institution research project on the teaching and learning of Chinese language for non-Chinese speaking (NCS) students, work out a research plan and schedule for the project, contribute to the timely delivery of research outcomes, manage all the data collected, analyze the collected data and findings to generate research papers and reports for publication, and perform other duties as assigned.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.
