The successful applicant will support the three public health research programmes within the NIHR School for Public Health Research and lead on specific projects therein: (1) To conduct methodological work on natural experiments and apply these methods in projects on the impact of place-based public health policies, and develop new guidance on natural experiments for public health practitioners, and (2) To plan and carry out analyses of large routine datasets, with the aim of identifying effective approaches to improving population mental health and the health of children, young people and families.

The successful applicant will have a PhD, strong quantitative research skills, and an ability to conduct epidemiological analyses, and contribute to multi-methods research, and a track record of applied public health research published in high impact journals.
