About the role

The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research and Industry Engagement) Portfolio provides strategic direction and support for research and research performance at La Trobe University.

We now have an exciting opportunity to appoint an Ethics Advisor (Animal Ethics and Biosafety) in the Research Office. Your main responsibilities will be focused around providing first level advice and guidance on all matters pertaining to ethics, integrity and biosafety at La Trobe University. Working with other advisors you will be responsible for supporting the senior members of the Ethics, Integrity and Biosafety team. You will be responsible for the the administration of the University Animal Ethics Committee and the La Trobe Institutional Biosafety Committee and will also take on the administration for other University ethics committees as required.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this position you will bring experience and relevant qualifications in research ethics, integrity and biosafety.  Quality Assurance experience would also be highly regarded.  Furthermore, you will have demonstrated secretariat skills and experience, including timely, efficient and effective minute-taking and record-keeping.  High level written and verbal communication skills including  the ability to collect, analyse and interprete data is required.
