The School of Science is seeking a lecturer/senior lecturer with excellent communications skills and a growing research reputation in food science and technology (FST). Our school is made up of a vibrant team of people that enjoys working together and our success is evident by having the largest growth rate of any university science school in New Zealand.

The primary role within the School in this position is to engage passionately in undergraduate and postgraduate education and to undertake high quality research in FST. Your research will underpin teaching and learning as well as advancing basic and applied knowledge. Key missions for the School of Science at AUT are promoting sustainability and ensuring a commitment to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi. Therefore, preference will also be given to applicants who can promote these aspirations in their teaching.

You will have a PhD, recognised research credentials, professional/academic experience relevant to the position with demonstrated leadership and presentation skills. You will also have a clear idea how you will be able to form constructive collaborations with research staff within the school and at the same time maintain those with both national and international external colleagues.  Teaching internationally for periods on AUT teaching contracts is likely at some point.

Your ability to inspire, your fresh thinking, creativity and innovation, plus your excellent interpersonal and communication skills, will be fully utilised.
