RESEARCH SUPPORT ASSOCIATE 1Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences (EAPS), to assist the research staff and graduate students in the Isotope Laboratory with sample preparation aspects of their projects.  Will be responsible for rock sample preparation and heavy mineral separation for geochemical analyses. Routine tasks will include maintenance and oversight of sample processing facilities, archiving of rock and mineral samples, maintaining inventory of lab supplies, and assisting with the disposal of hazardous chemical waste. Will also provide some assistance with the repair and maintenance of laboratory equipment, and perform other duties as assigned. 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: experience working in a research laboratory, organizational skills, ability to multitask in a high throughput work environment, experience with computer applications (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Dropbox, and HTML), and meticulous attention to detail and protocols.  A bachelor’s degree in geosciences or related field and basic knowledge of general lab practices and procedures are preferred.  Job #18012-3
