Job description

The post holder will act as Module Lead for the Evidence Informed Practice of Medicine strand of the curriculum across years 3 and 4 of the MBBS course. This theme incorporates psychology, sociology and public health, which will be applied in a clinical context. EIPOM also includes the Student Selected Components which are longitudinal projects in audit and quality assurance.

Additionally, the post holder will act as Module Lead for the Health and Society block, a 4 week block in year 3 which focusses on the EIPOM themes in practice and where the student placements are within a third sector setting.

The post is based at both Preston and Burnley campuses with occasional travel to UCLan's Whitehaven campus and so the ability to travel independently between sites is a must.
You will have substantial experience of working within a healthcare setting and will have membership of the appropriate professional body. Experience of small group facilitation and excellent leadership, organizational and communication skills are essential.
The successful post holder will have experience of assessment within medical education and of teaching undergraduate medical students.

Informal enquiries are welcomed; please contact Dr Helen Miles, Theme Lead for EIPOM in Phase 2, via email in the first instance hmiles1@uclan.ac.uk.

Applicants need to meet all essential criteria on the person specification to be considered for interview. This position is based in Preston.
