A position is available within the MRC Integrative Epidemiology Unit at the University of Bristol. The postholder would be based within the Tobacco and Alcohol Research Group at the University of Bristol (http://www.bris.ac.uk/expsych/research/brain/targ/), part of the MRC Integrative Epidemiology Unit (http://www.bristol.ac.uk/integrative-epidemiology/) and the UK Centre for Tobacco and Alcohol Studies (http://www.ukctas.ac.uk/ukctas/index.aspx).
The post-holder will run laboratory studies examining mechanisms identified as potentially underlying causal pathways, and develop interventions for piloting in field trials, with a focus on tobacco and alcohol use. This work will link ongoing epidemiological work within the MRC Integrative Epidemiology Unit and serve as the basis for the development and testing of novel interventions.
The successful applicant will have a PhD (or equivalent research experience) in psychology, behavioural science, or a closely-related quantitative discipline, and a track record of research, including experience of human laboratory studies.
