Learning and Engagement Manager

The postholder will play a key role in the design, development and delivery of education, learning and public engagement programmes for all audiences from pre-school through undergraduates, postgraduate and life-long learners, across the North East and beyond. Programmes are based on the collections, buildings and exhibitions; and sessions are offered at the Oriental Museum, Palace Green Library, Durham Castle and the Botanic Garden, as well as outreach in schools and resources on-line.

The post holder will develop, plan and schedule engagement activity and manage the team to ensure that education and engagement activities run smoothly, efficiently and to a high standard, meeting the needs of users and stakeholders.

Key relationships and partner organisations include secondary and primary schools, academic colleagues (in relation to both teaching and research), student associations, local and regional community groups, regional and national cultural and sector organisations.
