The Marketing Coordinator will support the development and execution of marketing events and projects for Yale University Properties. With guidance from the Director of Real Estate Asset Manager the Marketing Coordinator will support the timely development of marketing emails, website copy, brochures, posters, fliers and signage. Execute social media efforts through a thorough understanding of evolving social media technologies and best practices. Research and develop creative appropriate ways to connect with key audiences through promotions, and in-store and outdoor events. Conduct marketing, competitive, trend and consumer research to continuously improve marketing and event development. Contribute to the development and improvement of innovations and marketing that will improve customer satisfaction, marketing effectiveness and operational efficiency. Develop strong working relationships with the university, vendors and tenants. Other projects as assigned.
Please note that this position requires occasional weekends and evening hours for events, especially during peak shopping seasons.
- Assumes primary responsibility for a program, service, activity, operation or function in an assigned area. Develops objectives, practice and procedure and identifies resources to ensure accomplishment of operational goals.
- Coordinates day-to-day operations in order to achieve designated goals. Ensures effective management and leads the development and implementation of best practices.
- Designs and implements quality control metrics to identify areas of risk. Analyzes, recommends, and implements strategic solutions to minimize risk.
- Develops a variety of complex report and other written materials.
- Provides guidance to and collaboration with internal and external partners as necessary.
- Develops, oversees and monitors budgets.
- Develops and maintains specialized training.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in related field and three years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Skill/Ability 1:
Self-starter, entrepreneurial and energetic. Excellent attention to detail.
Required Skill/Ability 2:
Ability to conceptualize, plan, organize, run and market public events.
Required Skill/Ability 3:
Well-developed written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with all business owners, customers and community groups.
Required Skill/Ability 4:
Well-developed knowledge of social media platforms with the technical skills to manage social media sites.
Required Skill/Ability 5:
Strong team player and ability to work well with others. Willing to accept constructive feedback and focus on continuous improvement.
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:
3 years of proven event coordination, employee management experience, and building relationships in a retail, restaurant and/or community environment.
