Research Associate or Research Fellow – MR Physicist
We are seeking a Magnetic Resonance (MR) Physicist/Engineer to facilitate collaborative research in the field of Ultra High Field (7T) MR.
We are installing a new ultra-high field (7T) whole body scanner within an imaging clinical research facility at St Thomas’ Hospital in London. The facility will be used by researchers drawn from across London’s premier Universities and Research Institutes to deliver a wide-ranging research program that draws on the combined strength of the London MRI community.
The aim of the post is to support translational clinical research by helping London’s researchers to bridge the gap between challenging imaging approaches afforded by 7T MRI and their desired clinical studies.
The role holder will be a core scientist working as part of a small team who will together ensure that the opportunity afforded by combining the latest high field technology with expert research in a hospital setting is fully realised. The role holder will have a good understanding of MR physics, engineering, pulse sequence design, and be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of the scientific and clinical research applications of MR, ideally with expertise in ultra-high field methods.
