We wish to identify potential appointees of the highest calibre for the following post: Trial Coordinator – Grade 4 (QMUL19702).

The purpose of this job is to support a portfolio of clinical trials of investigational medicinal products (CTIMPs) and non-CTIMPs being conducted within the Centre for Experimental Medicine & Rheumatology (EMR) at QMUL & Barts Inflammatory Centre, Mile End Hospital, Barts Health Trust, in two areas:

The role will be responsible for study coordination activities relating to the setup of participating sites and responding to queries from sites of QMUL sponsored/led multi-site trials. The post-holder will oversee on-going management of the study in terms of data and specimens collection and communications to Ethics committees and/or regulatory bodies as applicable.  

The post-holder will join a 60-strong research team of Scientists, Clinicians and Clinical Trial staff dedicated to Inflammation and Rheumatology Research at the Centre for Experimental Medicine & Rheumatology (EMR). The Centre is focused on the development of innovative therapeutic and diagnostic approaches to inflammatory arthropathies. The emphasis is on translational research by combining strengths and expertise of basic and clinician scientists working together. 

The Centre offers cutting edge facilities and is located in the heart of the City of London in close proximity to the Barbican Arts and Music Centre. The Centre is integrated with the Department of Rheumatology and part of the world renowned William Harvey Research Institute (WHRI).

The successful candidate should have a degree in any life science or other relevant subject or a professional qualification (e.g. nurse, profession allied to medicine), together with experience of clinical study management.  Excellent communication skills and a knowledge of good clinical practice, data protection guidelines and regulations are also essential.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
