Dr. Nathaniel Daw is seeking a postdoctoral researcher or more senior research position to join his lab in the Department of Psychology at Princeton University to start in the fall of 2019. The Daw lab focuses on computational approaches reward learning and decision making. Research in the lab employs computational modeling together with behavioral (choice) and functional neuroimaging methods. The successful candidate will work on an NSF-funded project to develop new theoretical models of how memory encoding and retrieval processes influence decision formation, and test these theories using behavior and neuroimaging.

This appointment is for one year and can be renewed pending satisfactory performance and sufficient funding. This position is subject to the University's background check policy.

Essential Qualifications:

  • PhD. in related field (Psychology, Neuroscience, Cognitive Science) and a strong record of published research. 
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computational or theoretical formalisms and approaches to brain and behavior.
  • Proficiency with relevant statistical software and programming tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python, R)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Research experience with functional MRI and learning and decision making.
  • Working knowledge of the cognitive neuroscience of memory.
  • Background in machine learning or artificial intelligence.
