Position Description

The Department of Philosophy seeks to appoint a tenured professor in the field of ethics, broadly construed to include normative ethics, metaethics, moral psychology, theories of agency and responsibility, practical ethics (including the ethics of AI and other technologies), the history of ethics, and feminist and non-Western approaches to these topics. The professor will teach and advise at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The appointment is expected to begin at the earliest on July 1, 2020. Applications indicating a preference for a later start date will not be excluded from review.

Basic Qualifications

Candidates are required to have a doctorate.

Additional Qualifications

Demonstrated strong commitment to teaching and research is desired. Candidates should also evince intellectual leadership and impact on the field and potential for significant contributions to the department, university, and wider scholarly community.
