The Role

Full time, fixed term role (up to 12 months due to maternity)

Salary is £25,217 to £28,331 per annum

Location: York

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a varied role in a thriving and supportive team providing all aspects of events support at York St John University.

As our Events Projects Officer you will help develop and deliver all elements of our events function.  This means you will support academics and internal colleagues to plan, prepare and deliver successful events; help the university generate income and strengthen partnerships by promoting and selling events space; and work with internal and external stakeholders to deliver showcase events within the university calendar, such as our Graduation ceremonies at York Minster, Open Days for prospective students, our annual showcase for student work and our support for York Business week.

As our Events Projects Officer you will also help the team to maintain and develop the systems and processes that facilitate the successful functioning of the Events Office and the wider support needed to the university.

We are looking for a candidate with a highly organised approach, excellent skills in managing professional relationships both inside and outside the university, the ability to stay calm under pressure and the mindset to analyse situations and challenges and find positive solutions.  Experience of running and working in Higher Education events would be advantageous, but equally important is the ability to demonstrate your detailed, methodical approach and the flexibility to work with a variety of people and across a range of responsibilities.

The Events Team is developing an engaging programme of activities for the 2019/20 academic year and this is your chance to be at the heart of making it happen.  You'll join a friendly and supportive team that is closely engaged with the universities wider marketing functions.
