We are seeking to appoint an experienced behavioural neuroscientist to support the development of a novel automated task for testing cognitive and emotional behaviour in rodents. The post is being funded by the Elizabeth Blackwell Institute TRACK award.
A previous background working with animals and behavioural methods is essential and preferably prior experience of studies using operant methods. The major role will be to develop the apparatus and undertake proof of concept testing. The post holder will also undertake additional studies using the affective bias test to support the ongoing validation of this novel approach to studying antidepressants.
The work may require some out of hours and weekend commitments. Alongside the main role of carrying out behavioural experiments, the post-holder will also be expected to support the laboratory in general including assisting in the supervision of undergraduate and post-graduate students
Applicants should hold a PhD in a neuroscience-related discipline (Awarded or imminent)
