Director of Human Resources

Brac University

Competitive Salary and Benefits

An exciting opportunity to make a substantial difference.

Under new leadership Brac University is seeking to move well beyond being one of the leading universities in Bangladesh and position itself as one of Asia’s leading international universities. To support this aim we are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual with the ability to provide strategic human capital leadership at a time when significant organizational change and improvement is taking place. If you are a seasoned human-resources professional with the skills and experience to manage positive organizational change we look forward to hearing from you. If you have discounted Bangladesh in the past, then think again. One the fastest growing economies in the world Bangladesh has been outperforming its long-term growth targets. Its rapidly diversifying economy is being powered by a large and talented younger generation, keen to make the most of future opportunities. Universities, like Brac, are playing an integral role in enabling the transition to a knowledge-based economy, thereby providing a perfect environment for strategic human resources management to come of age. If you relish the challenge of working closely with a  large range of domestic and international stakeholders you will thrive in this role.

Although only eighteen years old, Brac University has quickly established itself as Bangladesh’s leading private university. We now seek to become a high performing international university by carrying out impactful research, delivering teaching excellence and being a leader in student experience. We are proud of our association with BRAC, the world’s largest NGO and share its commitment to uphold human values and support sustainable development.  You will enable the University to recruit, develop and motivate a high performing workforce capable of achieving the University’s aims on the international stage.  An experienced leader, you will be able to build a well-balanced team of human resource professionals that deliver world’s best practice in compensation and benefits, learning and development, performance management and organizational change.

You will be a strong human-resources professional with plenty of energy and a proven track record of successfully leading the full range of human capital services. Understanding of the HE sector will be beneficial although not essential. Demonstration of strategic capabilities and tangible evidence of achieving meaningful results at a senior level will be necessary. Furthermore, evidence of understanding and being able to respond successfully to the needs of a broad stakeholder group will be required.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a diverse group of international colleagues and external stakeholders is essential. Experience of undertaking previous international assignments would be beneficial.

A search exercise is being undertaken by Minerva, who will assist the Brac University Appointment Panel to identify the widest possible field of qualified candidates and to assist the panel in its assessment.
