GRADUATE PROGRAM ASSISTANT, Economicsto support the administrative functions of the Graduate Program and the department of Economics. Reporting directly to the Graduate Administrator, will provide high level administrative and financial support; work closely with all members of the faculty; perform a wide variety of administrative functions; create, update, and maintain the program’s filing system and databases; compose and/or prepare correspondence; prepare for meetings, including taking notes and providing materials; provide support for faculty members of the program in relation to the logistics of the junior faculty hiring, students’ job placement, and the admissions and recruitment process (under the Graduate Administrator’s guidance); organize and manage departmental activities and events, including coordinating with students/faculty/staff; process hourly student payroll, travel and reimbursement expenses, administration of the purchasing card system, and the weekly ordering of office supplies; have the ability to travel once per year for the department’s annual conference, as needed; handle production of the annual departmental brochure; and other special projects as assigned.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent, bachelors preferred; at least five years' of administrative, office, or related experience; advanced computer software skills and strong competency with Microsoft Office Suite; ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision; excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and meticulous attention to detail. Experience with SAP, Filemaker, Adobe creative suite, preferred. Job# 17893-6
