Dementia Training Australia (DTA)

  • Facilitate Dementia Training Australia’s Medication Management Consultancy to reduce antipsychotic usage in residential aged care, in line with the new Aged Care Standards
  • Level 7, part-time (0.4 FTE) appointment on fixed term basis to 30 June 2020
  • Salary range: $86,801 to $96,427 pro rata plus 9.5% superannuation

About Dementia Training Australia

Dementia Training Australia (DTA) is responsible for the translation of contemporary knowledge regarding dementia care through the development and delivery of training resources to the aged care workforce. DTA is a collaboration between four Australian universities and Dementia Australia, and is led by the University of Wollongong. Auspiced by the University of Western Australia’s Western Australian Centre for Health and Ageing, DTA (UWA) forms a key linkage between research and industry.

About the opportunity

Reporting to the Manager for Dementia Training Australia, you will facilitate the development and delivery of DTA training and resources, with a particular emphasis on medication management activities.

About you

With relevant tertiary qualifications, preferably an undergraduate or postgraduate pharmacy degree, you will have extensive relevant project management experience, excellent written and verbal communication skills with cross-cultural sensitivity and the ability to prepare high level reports and papers for publication. You will also have excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple and often competing tasks to meet deadlines, demonstrate experience working with multidisciplinary health professional teams in aged care environments and have an ability to work independently, show initiative and work productively as part of a team.

Note: Occasional interstate travel after hours’ work may be required.
