ASSISTANT DIRECTOR FOR EXTERNAL PARTNERSHIPSMIT Quest for Intelligence, to manage interactions and engagements with industrial partners, external organizations, and others under the Quest umbrella. Will oversee several large programs and several key high-profile conferences.  Responsibilities will include maintaining positive relationships with member companies by managing and fostering productive relationships that support and encourage ongoing collaborations; advancing and growing engagements with member companies (sponsored research, student engagement, etc.); maintaining a select portfolio of companies with prime management responsibilities; serving as the lead for managing the production and marketing of workshops and conferences; managing and cultivating prospective member companies across all programs, professional programs, and additional programs as they come online; and assisting in securing new members across all levels of the Quest. 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED bachelor’s degree; at least seven years’ experience in client relations and strategic partnerships; at least three years’ management experience; track record of increased responsibility; diplomacy and political acumen; flexibility; excellent organizational, program management, problem-solving, decision-making, analytical, financial, interpersonal, relationship management, client service, business writing, and verbal communication and presentation skills; self-motivation; high level proficiency with spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, and graphic design applications; and discretion and judgment with confidential information.  Must be able to manage strategically; set priorities, coordinate multiple tasks, meet competing deadlines, and deliver results; keep teams, projects, and deliverables on track, evaluating and revising plans/methods as needed; work collaboratively and effectively across all levels of higher education, government, and industry; build strong working relationships with faculty, CEOs, government officials, start-ups, and support staff; and work effectively under pressure with minimal supervision.  PREFERRED MBA, experience developing and managing budgets, and knowledge of MIT. Job #17881-11

Must be able to attend evening/weekend meetings/events and travel domestically, and potentially internationally, up to 10% of the time.
