We are looking for an experienced and energetic leader to drive forward the Professional Liaison Network (PLN) office in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law at the University of Bristol.

The office - which manages the Faculty’s external partnerships for the benefit of education and research - has grown rapidly since its inception in Spring 2016, and is now established as a core part of the Faculty’s mission. Leading the PLN requires someone who can work autonomously, is highly motivated, flexible and creative, and is able to lead the next phase of this successful team’s work. The PLN has focused mainly on specialist engaged education initiatives thus far, for which it was nominated for a University Education Award this year. The next phase will involve making more use of the rich body of external partnerships it has developed (from all sectors and types of organisation - from large corporates to small start-ups, social enterprises and charities) to benefit the Faculty’s research. At the same time, the role-holder will be required to continue to drive forward education engagement - constantly innovating to keep the Faculty at the leading edge of specialist engaged education; they will ensure that the Faculty’s partnerships across research and education are complementary, and also that the PLN’s work continues to complement the work of key University central offices particularly Research and Enterprise Development (RED) and the Careers Service.

This is an exciting opportunity for an excellent leader and communicator who understands the benefit of University partnership with external organisations, and who has innovative ideas about how to make these work for mutual benefit.

For further details about the PLN, see www.bris.ac.uk/pln

Contact john.mcwilliams@bristol.ac.uk or dominic.freda@bristol.ac.uk to arrange an informal discussion of the role.

The application deadline is midnight on Sunday 16th September 2019.

Interviews will be held on Wednesday 2nd October 2019.
