At the Institute of Circuits and Systems the Chair of Measurement and Sensor System (headed by Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Jürgen Czarske) offers a position as

Research Associate

(Subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E13 TV-L)

starting as soon as possible. The position entails up to 100% of the fulltime weekly hours and is initially limited for two years with the option of extension. The period of employment is governed by Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz-WissZeitVG). The position offers the chance to obtain further academic qualification.

Tasks: The offered position is funded by a third party project from Deutsche Forschungs­gemeinschaft (DFG). The aim of the project is the Laser based tomographic measurement of the local acoustic impedance of overflowed liners in aero-engines in order to identify the underlying physics to decrease aero-engine noise. The project is conducted jointly with our partner institute German Aerospace Center in Berlin (DLR). The tasks within the offered position entail basic research on the sensor principle, the setup of a measurement system as well as the application at our partner institute. Furthermore, your scope of activity involve publications in international research journals, presentations in international conferences as well as supervising Bachelor and Master Students.

Requirements: university degree (Masters/Diploma) in electrical or mechanical engineering, physics or similar; experience in Signal processing using Matlab or Python; interest in neural network based signal processing, experience in laboratory experiments, optical engineering (vibrometry, holography) and fluid dynamics advantageous; strong sense of responsibility, analytical thinking, committed and goal-driven way of working.
