Are you a current University of Leeds undergraduate or postgraduate student with a passion for football? Are you interested in promoting and developing programmes to increase participation in football across specific target groups? 

You will support our vision of being the sector leader for student experience in sport and physical activity by impacting on our social football offer and community outreach work. This position is jointly funded by the University & British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS)). You will gain valuable experience supporting projects which raise awareness of football and improve access and entry points within the University and the wider community football landscape. 

We seek to appoint a Football Activator in the 2019-20 academic year with a particular focus on increasing university participation amongst women & girls, and on supporting our ever-expanding portfolio of activities in local schools and community groups. You will support the organisation and coordination of playing opportunities on campus including intramural leagues, social sessions, coaching sessions and taster sessions, delivering and maintaining high standards for participants at all levels of play. You will also support sustainable partnerships between the University and the wider community. As well as delivering attractive, high quality participation opportunities, you will encourage the development and recruitment of volunteers, referees and coaches to support our various community football programmes and interventions. 

You will be required to work flexibly to meet the needs of the role, which may include evening and weekend work when appropriate, and working variable hours (hours will be approximately 5-6 hours per week during term time only).
