DIRECTOR, BUSINESS OPERATIONS, Information Systems and Technology (IS&T), to lead IS&T’s Finance, Software Asset Management, and Business Logistics teams.  Will lead the department finance and sourcing, procurement, asset management, and vendor management functions into a high-performing center of excellence.  As part of the IS&T senior leadership team, will play a critical role in developing, implementing, and executing key strategic initiatives and projects that will contribute to the achievement of MIT’s 2020 IT Vision and play a pivotal role in supporting IS&T’s associated initiatives and projects and the overall governance of IT@MIT.  Will report to the VP of IS&T and supervise a finance manager, IT leaders, a business logistics specialist, financial analysts, and software asset management analysts.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field; at least ten years of relevant IT and business/industry work experience, with specific experience managing an IT finance, accounting, and/or operations function; experience working with agencies and/or third party vendors to negotiate contracts for work done in enterprise resourcing planning, cloud services and data centers; experience managing teams and building strategic relationships at a variety of levels; excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills; ability to motivate, influence, and drive change; demonstrated experience launching and delivering multiple projects on time and within budget; experience managing ad-hoc requests/needs while maintaining day-to-day responsibilities; and ability to interpret and ground decisions on solid analytics.
