The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at Princeton University invites applications for a tenure track faculty position of Assistant Professor with a preferred start date of September 1, 2020. A Ph.D. degree in an appropriate field is required. 

The successful candidate will have a proven record of innovation and creativity in research addressing important and emerging topics in civil engineering. We are particularly interested in innovative civil engineering research that addresses infrastructure challenges in cities and the urban environment; past, present and future. Candidates must have the ability and motivation to develop a vigorous independent research program and to participate in collaborative efforts of the faculty. 

The department has strong undergraduate and graduate programs in both civil engineering and environmental engineering. Applicants should have interest in, and competence for, teaching foundational undergraduate and advanced graduate courses in CEE. The CEE department has strong ties with other departments, centers, and institutes at Princeton that focus on urban studies, architecture, art and archeology, energy, environment, and materials science; the successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop initiatives that establish and strengthen such connections.
