We are looking for an experienced and effective research project manager to support an exciting new project within the Faculty of Engineering and the Bristol Composites Institute (ACCIS) at the University of Bristol.

CerTest – full title ‘Certification for Design - Reshaping the Testing Pyramid’ – is a £6.9M research investment from the UK Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) in the form of a Programme Grant. CerTest is conducted in a close partnership between academic partners University of Bristol (lead), University of Bath, University of Exeter and the University of Southampton, with strong industrial and stakeholder support by Airbus, Rolls Royce, BAE Systems, GKN Aerospace, CFMS, the National Composites Centre (NNC), the Alan Turing Institute, and with close interaction with the European Aviation Safety Agency.

We are looking for a proactive, self-motivated and well-organised research project manager who has excellent communication skills and who can build effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels of seniority, including from other organisations. You must be comfortable delivering high quality work with little guidance and be able to show initiative in identifying and implementing ways of adding additional value to the project for both the University and the industrial partners.

You will be responsible for the overall management of the project, including ensuring work packages progress and milestones are met to time, collating status and progress reports, contractual and financial matters, organise project meetings, and liaison with finance teams at partner universities. You will prepare reports to meet the academic and industry partner’s and funding body’s requirements, and design and deliver materials and events to promote the project and to disseminate the outcomes to relevant stakeholders. Further, you will develop and support the CerTest Knowledge Repository, e.g. Sharepoint for internal communications, and the CerTest website. You will also support the lead academic in managing the project team, and in identifying and developing opportunities for future grants and industry-funded projects.
Ideally you will be professionally qualified or qualified to degree level or equivalent (some technical background and insight would be desirable), and you will have proven experience in a relevant role; or substantial relevant work experience.

This a full-time role offered on an open-ended contract with funding available for two years in the first instance, with possible extension depending on programme continuation and development.
