Role Description

Cranfield Forensic Institute (CFI) provides a Centre of Excellence for the application of science and technology to law enforcement particularly, through forensic science and engineering.

We have an opportunity for a Research Fellow to provide specialist support to deliver the essential high quality outputs (data/reports/software etc) to a pre-defined, MRC research project in relation to the early diagnosis of Breast Cancer using materials immortalisation.    The post holder will be a member of a research team operating between Exeter, Kings and Cranfield Universities and Gloucester hospitals.

You will be responsible for a range of deliverables as required by the research team leader with direction from a prescribed Medical Research Council (MRC) - Cranfield research project.  You will contribute to the work of other research team members employed directly and indirectly by the MRC project through expert advice and new analytical approaches.

The job will require some initiative and forward thinking regarding problems with no clear current solution.

You will have a PhD (or nearing completion) in an area that includes X-ray diffraction methods.

You will have experience of data processing and analysis, individual/group project work and a track record in research, including publications.

For informal enquiries, please email Professor Keith Rogers, k.d.rogers@cranfield.ac.uk.

Interviews will be held early September 2019.
