NURSE PRACTITIONER, DERMATOLOGY, MIT Medical, to provide direct patient care in accordance with MIT Medical policies and state and federal rules, regulations, and standards of care. Will assess a patient’s health status through interview and physical exam and synthesize this clinical information to formulate health status and diagnosis, a plan of care and treatment, and the implementation of a treatment plan and follow up strategies; provide health education, supportive counseling, and clinical outreach in collaboration with other individuals/services at MIT Medical and across the MIT community; and maintain a panel of patients in order to maintain proper continuums of care. This position does not include cosmetic work.

MIT Medical, an accredited ambulatory care center serving the health and wellness needs of the MIT community, conducts approximately 120,000-plus visits annually. Its clinical offerings encompass more than twenty specialties and provide occupational and employee health services, community wellness programs, and seven-day-a-week urgent care.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: graduation from an accredited nurse practitioner program; current advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) licensure or PA-C license; current provider card in basic life support (BLS); master's degree in nursing; MA Board of Registration authorization to practice as an APP; valid prescriptive authority from both the MA DPH-DCP and federal DEA; and experience with computer systems, including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Access). Must be able to summarize and communicate in English (orally and in writing) moderately complex information to staff/patients/families/external customers, collaborate with staff to ensure patients receive optimal clinical care, and provide a high level of customer service and staff training.
