REGISTERED NURSE, PRIMARY CARE, MIT Medical, to provide nursing care to the patient population of an assigned service area.  Will provide direct patient care according to age-specific plans of care that is within the scope of practice of an RN; apply the principles of telephone and waiting room triage; utilize established guidelines to respond to each patient’s needs, easily accessing data, interpreting age-specific needs, and providing nursing care in collaboration with others; and play a critical role in providing health education, supportive counseling, and clinical outreach to the MIT community in collaboration with other individuals or services at MIT Medical. 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  graduation from an accredited nursing program; a current RN license in Massachusetts;  CPR certification; at least three years’ experience as an RN in pediatrics, women’s health, or a family medicine ambulatory clinic or private practice setting; fluency with EMR systems, Cerner preferred; experience with computer systems, including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications, e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Access; ability to summarize and communicate, in English, moderately complex information both verbally and in varied written formats, to staff, patients, families, and external customers; in-depth knowledge of concepts, practices, and policies and ability to use them in complex varied situations; ability to collaborate in order to ensure that patients receives optimal clinical care; ability to provide a high level customer service and staff training to meet customer service standards and expectations; and willingness to attend clinical meetings.  Allergy immunotherapy and anti-coagulation management experience a plus.  Job #17799
